In Torino, Celine, an American model, is abducted by a taxi driver while en route home to meet her sister Linda, visiting at her apartment. The next morning, Linda reports that Celine is missing – the sergeant in charge directs her to F.B.I. agent Inspector Enzo Avolfi. He’s from the Special New York City Department investigating a serial-killer that kidnaps foreigners to destroy their beauty. When a Japanese woman is found at nearby a fountain, Enzo and Linda find that the girl is calling the abductor’s skin is “Yellow” in color and Linda concludes that the guy might have jaundice. The bolsheviks on the train are lead by Vladimir J. Lenin (Kingsley). There are some unpleasant collisions taking place between enthusiastic Socialists and workers concerned about the war. During the train travel time Lenin’s affair with the gracious Inessa comes to an end, and his Nadja is prepared to take him back. The triumphant arrival in Saint-Petersburg exceeds all expectations. The director Alan Yates and his crew, formed by Faye Daniels, Jack Anders and Mark Tomaso, head to a rain forest in Amazonas called Green Inferno to shoot a documentary about the primitive tribes of cannibals that live in the area. They vanish and the American anthropologist Professor Harold Monroe travels to the area with the experienced guide Chaco Losojos and his assistant Miguel to seek the team out. The trio is received first by the Yacumo tribe of warriors and then they approach to the wild Yamamomo that is in a permanent war against the Shamatari. They find the remains of the documentary team and their reels, and they successfully negotiate with the savages. While walking through the desert dragging a coffin, the lonely Django rescues Maria from a group of bandits and arrives in a not-quite ghost town, where only the saloon and the brothel, owned by Nataniele, are open. Soon, Major Jackson, who charges protection fees from the dwellers, rounds his gang up to face Django, but he kills all the bandits but Jackson using a machine gun. Then a mercenary and acquaintance of Django, Gen. Hugo Rodriguez, arrives in town, and Django proposes a bold plan to steal the gold from Jackson and split between them. Il maresciallo Topponi si presenta una mattina nel grande negozio di tessuti del cavalier Pezzella, per un accertamento fiscale. Su consiglio del consulente fiscale, il negoziante tenta di corrompere il maresciallo, mandando dei vistosi regali….ad un indirizzo sbagliato. Avendo saputo che il maresciallo è un appassionato cacciatore, lo raggiunge una domenica mattina in pieno assetto di caccia, ma gli combina tanti guai da farselo nemico. Al ritorno dalla caccia i due uomini hanno un incidente che li costringe a farsi ricoverare all’ospedale: qui, insieme per forza, scoprono che la figlia dell’uno ed il figlio dell’altro si amano, ma il maresciallo non vuol sentir parlare di questo idillio. Ripresa l’ispezione, il maresciallo raccoglie materiale sufficiente, ma il commerciante riesce ad impadronirsi della sua borsa, contenente il verbale dell’inchiesta ed i documenti. Nel rimorso di poter compromettere la carriera dell’ufficiale, il negoziante, seguendo il consiglio del parroco, restituisce la borsa : questo gesto ristabilisce tra i due relazioni amichevoli, permettendo anche ai figli di poter coronare il loro sogno. La multa, quando verrà , sarà in qualche modo sistemata. |

Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo’s internationally popular cartoon characters Asterix and Obelix take on the world of athletics in this live-action comedy-adventure. It’s 50 B.C., and short but wily Asterix (Clovis Cornillac) and his rotund sidekick Obelix (Gerard Depardieu) hit the road for Rome, where they hope to compete in the Olympic Games. Obelix figures he’s a sure bet for a weight-lifting medal until he learns his special strength elixir is against the rules, and Asterix is soon distracted by the behind-the-scenes chicanery. Princess Irina (Vanessa Hessler), a beautiful member of the Greek royal family, is being wooed by well-meaning Lovesix (Stephane Rousseau), who is using love poems stolen from Obelix to win her heart, and untrustworthy Brutus (Benoit Poelvoorde), whose father is the Roman emperor Julius Caesar (Alain Delon). Brutus is eager to take over the throne from his father, and keeps trying to kill Caesar off to speed up the process. Asterix Aux Jeux Olympiques (aka Asterix At The Olympic Games) also features cameo appearances from a number of European sports stars, including Zinedine Zidane, Michael Schumacher and Tony Parker. |

The story is set at the beginning of the 20th century in Sicily. Salvatore, a very poor farmer, and a widower, decides to emigrate to the US with all his family, including his old mother. Before they embark, they meet Lucy. She is supposed to be a British lady and wants to come back to the States. Lucy, or Luce as Salvatore calls her, for unknown reasons wants to marry someone before to arrive to Ellis Island in New York. Salvatore accepts the proposal. Once they arrive in Ellis Island they spend the quarantine period trying to pass the examinations to be admitted to the States. Tests are not so simple for poor farmers coming from Sicily. Their destiny is in the hands of the custom officers. |
