Being based on S.. E. Hinton Roman of the same name. The tension between two groups: The greasers and The Socials “Socs” bring pony bell-boy Curtis (Howell) and his best friend Johnny Cade (Macchio) in a bad point. One night in the cinema pony bell-boy and Johnny fall in love with the Sherri “Kirsch” furbelow (lane) and Marcia (Meyrink), as soon as they come, wasting Winston (Dillon), the toughest and most maliciously the greaser to stop, to try “to notch” to cherry and Marcia. What Johnny and pony bell-boy do not know, is that to cherry and Marcia Mädchen are for the snobby, popular and rich group, the Socs. As soon as Johnny Bob Sheldon (Garrett), the toughest and most evil member of the Socs kills, this begins because the Socs rumbling demand against the greasers.

Die Spannung zwischen zwei Gruppen: Die Schmierer und Der Socials “Socs” bringen Ponyboy Curtis (Howell) und sein bester Freund Johnny Cade (Macchio) in einem schlechten Punkt. Eines Nachts am Kino verlieben sich Ponyboy und Johnny in die Sherri “Kirsch”-Falbel (Gasse) und Marcia (Meyrink), sobald sie kommen, Vertrödeln Winston (Dillon), das zähste und am bösartigsten der Schmierer, um aufzuhören, zu versuchen, Kirsche und Marcia “einzukerben”.
