In addition, there are four middle-aged women: three of whom recount arousing stories whilst the fourth accompanies on the piano. The story is largely taken up with their recounting the stories of Dante and De Sade: the Circle of Manias, the Circle of Shit and the Circle of Blood. Following this, the youths are executed whilst each libertine takes his turn as voyeur.

Wigand è stato licenziato perchè dissente dalle politiche aziendali ed è convinto dal producer a testimoniare contro i suoi ex-padroni in una causa che dimostri il potere assuefativo della nicotina, cosa su cui si fondano le strategie di vendita delle aziende del tabacco. La CBS, proprietaria del network televisivo, decide all’ultimo momento di non trasmettere l’intervista, per timore di eventuali azioni legali da parte delle industrie del tabacco. Ma Bergman non si arrende e torna alla carica sulla carta stampata. Il caso finisce al Congresso americano che, nell’autunno del 1999, ratifica un accordo col quale i produttori di sigarette dovranno indennizzare gli stati che hanno fatto loro causa con la cifra di 246 miliardi di dollari. Questa la storia reale, ed anche quella del film.

Another ex has died, and today’s the last day he can go to her wake. He must deal with customers that aren’t so intelligent. His friend, Randal, a clerk at the video store next door, is even less dedicated to his job than Dante, and is always bothering Dante’s customers. And the biggest problem of them all: HE’S NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE THERE TODAY!! Can Dante manage it all?

Ripper takes this unilateral action because of his paranoid belief that Communists are sapping and contaminating “all our precious bodily fluids” as part of their plan to take over the world.” Unbeknownst to Ripper, his attack will trigger the Russian’s ultimate weapon, the Doomsday Machine, a diabolical retaliatory device set to blow up the planet.
