During a British Museum-sponsored archaeological expedition to Egypt led by Sir Joseph Whemple, the recently discovered mummy of a high priest, Im-ho-tep, comes to life and walks away into the desert night. Ten years later a new expedition led by Sir Joseph’s son, Frank Whemple, find the tomb of Princess Anck-es-en-Amon, Im-ho-tep’s long lost love. Nearly one decade ago Cate Blanchett drew the attention of spectators and critics immediately with ELIZABETH who returns Oskar winning actress to the role of the pure queen. Although the Protestant ruler on the throne has been since decades in 1585, the government of Elizabeth I is still under bombardment from within her country as well as from the continent. Their cousin, Mary, queen of Scot (Samanthas Morton), carries the preference of the Catholics of the nation because she intrigues for the throne of the prison, while king of Spain Philip II (Jordi Molla) plans an invasion with the power of his famous navy. But Elizabeth is also occupied with the arrival of Mr. Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen), a winning pirate and adventurer. Incapable to add her feelings with her crown, it encourages Bess (Abbie Cornish) to pursue her beloved lady-in-waiting in addition, a respect with Raleigh. Nine years do not have dulled the ability of Blanchett to play this— or everybody other— character with an impressive row of the fire and the tenderness. Their chemistry with enormously watchable Owen is one of the climaxes of the film. As in ELIZABETH manager Shekhar Kapur does not economise of it to use cleverly built shots which are not ordinarily used in period dramas. It is of the history moulder again to tell, and Kapur and his manager from photograpy, Remi Adefarasin, are not contented to let have the film the standard look of many films in the genre. Costume designer Alexandra Byrne follows the same logic, breathtaking clothes for Elizabeth creative who pull inspiration from the modernity as well as from the period. If Blanchett were not such a gifted actress, the splendid costumes could threaten to catch up them as the star of the film.

Miss Jane Marple stays to an elegant hotel of her compliments of childhood of her nephew Raymond. Mais que son meurtre concerne-t-il la disparition d’un vicaire assez âgé restant à l’hôtel et à une ficelle de vols au cours de quelques mois derniers ? Mlle Marple doit apprendre avant les grèves de meurtrier de nouveau!!!.
