A take on the classic tale ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’, ‘Big Fat Liar’ is about a 14-year-old boy named Jason Shephard (Frankie Muniz) who lies for the fun of it. Jason loses an important story assignment entitled ‘Big Fat Liar’ in movie producer Marty Wolf’s (Paul Giamatti) limo, which Wolf then turns into a film. When Jason sees a movie preview of his story, he and best friend Kaylee (Amanda Bynes) go to Los Angeles to make Wolf confess to using Jason’s story as well as to clear Jason’s name and to get him out of having to attend summer school. The teen liar then has to match wits with Wolf, who also turns out to be a big liar.

Writer/director Sophie Barthes crafts this metaphysical tragicomedy, which straddles the line between reality and fantasy, set in a world where souls are extracted from humans and traded as commodites. Paul Giamatti is an anxious New Yorker who finds the answer to his deep-rooted malaise after stumbling upon an article about a high-tech company that claims to have found a solution to human suffering. By deep-freezing souls, claims the company, they can give their customers a life free from fear, doubt, and worry. Eager to free himself from the emotional burden of angst, Giamatti eagerly enlists their services. Trouble arises, however, when Giamatti’s soul is swiped by a soul-trafficking “mule” who in turn gives it to a no-talent Russian soap opera actress. Now, in order to get back the soul that is rightfully his, Giamatti must make the arduous trip to St. Petersburg, along the way discovering that the true key to happiness isn’t the absence of pain, but the ability to experience the entire spectrum of emotion and cherish the things that really matter.

Late in the evening, in an anonymous U. SEE. Town, a lonesome man sits in a bus stop. A pregnant woman runs through, presecuted by a man with a gun. In local bordello he tries to do a milk separating tart to observe the child, but things escalate fast, and this makeshift family is soon on the run. Heavy metal music calms the baby. Why? A laboratory, a gun factory, and a presidential campaign the integer in the search of the smith for the extreme security of the child.

All streets lead to Omaha, the side of a national karaoke competition where this coloured group of singers and stars comes together for a flat tyre, sings – about it.
