War begets revenge. Victorious general, Titus Andronicus, returns to Rome with hostages: Tamora queen of the Goths and her sons. He orders the eldest hewn to appease the Roman dead. He declines the proffered emperor’s crown, nominating Saturninus, the last ruler’s venal elder son. Saturninus, to spite his brother Bassianus, demands the hand of Lavinia, Titus’s daughter. When Bassianus, Lavinia, and Titus’s sons flee in protest, Titus stands against them and slays one of his own. Saturninus marries the honey-tongued Tamora, who vows vengeance against Titus. The ensuing maelstrom serves up tongues, hands, rape, adultery, racism, and Goth-meat pie. There’s irony in which two sons survive. Search keywords |

King Henry II (‘Patrick Stewart (I)’ (qv)) keeps his wife, Eleanor (‘Glenn Close’ (qv)) locked away in the towers because of her frequent attempts to overthrow him. With Eleanor out of the way he can have his dalliances with his young mistress (‘Yuliya Vysotskaya’ (qv)). Needless to say the queen is not pleased, although she still has affection for the king. Working through her sons, she plots the king’s demise and the rise of her second and preferred son, Richard (‘Andrew Howard (I)’ (qv)), to the throne. The youngest son, John (‘Rafe Spall’ (qv)), an overweight buffoon and the only son holding his father’s affection is the king’s choice after the death of his first son, young Henry. But John is also overly eager for power and is willing to plot his father’s demise with middle brother, Geoffrey (‘John Light (I)’ (qv)) and the young king of France, Phillip (‘Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ (qv)). Geoffrey, of course sees his younger brother’s weakness and sees that route as his path to power. Obviously political and court intrigue ensues. Search keywords |

Inspired by true events, the CHILDREN of HUANG SHI are a portrait both sweeping and intimate of people whom, thrown in an unexpected and hopeless situation, discover their capacity for love and responsibility. He repeats how a young Englishman, George Hogg came to lead sixty boys orphans on an extraordinary trip of almost thousand perilous miles across the snowy Saucepan Liu the mountains of Shan to security on the edge of the Mongolian desert. And of how, in that way, he came to include the true meaning of courage. During its trip, Hogg learns to count on the support of Chen, the leader of a Chinese partisan group which becomes his closest friend. He is soon by falling in love the Side under the wind, a carelessly brave Australian adventurer that war was transformed into not emotional male nurse on horseback. Along the way Hogg help madam Wang, an aristocratic survivor who was also moved by the war, which helps the young Englishman, his friends and their sixty war orphans advance across impressive (and seldom filmed) the mountain and leave regions in a place of security near the Western end of the Big Wall of China.
