Inspired by true events, the CHILDREN of HUANG SHI are a portrait both sweeping and intimate of people whom, thrown in an unexpected and hopeless situation, discover their capacity for love and responsibility. He repeats how a young Englishman, George Hogg came to lead sixty boys orphans on an extraordinary trip of almost thousand perilous miles across the snowy Saucepan Liu the mountains of Shan to security on the edge of the Mongolian desert. And of how, in that way, he came to include the true meaning of courage. During its trip, Hogg learns to count on the support of Chen, the leader of a Chinese partisan group which becomes his closest friend. He is soon by falling in love the Side under the wind, a carelessly brave Australian adventurer that war was transformed into not emotional male nurse on horseback. Along the way Hogg help madam Wang, an aristocratic survivor who was also moved by the war, which helps the young Englishman, his friends and their sixty war orphans advance across impressive (and seldom filmed) the mountain and leave regions in a place of security near the Western end of the Big Wall of China.
