For the first film in New York Zoo Animals, Alex the lion, zebra Marty, Melman and Gloria of Giraffe of hippo still stranded in Madagascar, started to leave the island. All are suddenly landed in the deserts of Africa. There, Alex soon meet the rest of his family and began to have trouble communicating with them, since much of their time in Central Park zoo.

Z is just another ant in a colony of millions, around the individuality fighting. He falls in love with princess Bala, and persuades his Krieger-Ameise-Freund-Weber to switch places with him for one day, so that he can see again princess Bala. The result of it throws Z in a bigger adventure than he one day dreamt possibly.
