In the last time when we saw Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), he was tormented by rival Bruce Nolan onscreen, lively of his station of television of Buffalo. But as the time went by and Evan composed with Bruce, he was for bigger and better things. Recently elected for Washington D. C. as a Congressman, Evan left the Buffalo, Nova Iorque in the pursuit of a bigger call. But that call is not serving in the illustrious lines of the politics of America, but he itself is being summoned by the Almighty (Morgan Freeman), who handed to Evan over the task of building a new chest, very much as Noah did before. With the time passing and his family devalued by the recent realization of Evan, Evan will do the work that the God it handed which promises of being an exceptional adventure of a man who wanted only to serve to his country, it might be serving in fact to the humanity.

Mas aquela chamada não está servindo nas filas ilustres da política da América, mas está sendo intimada pelo Todo-poderoso ele mesmo (Morgan Freeman), que entregou a Evan a tarefa de construir uma nova arca, muito como Noah fez antes. Com o tempo passando e a sua família depreciada pela realização recente de Evan, Evan terá de fazer o trabalho que o Deus o entregou o que promessas de ser uma aventura excepcional de um homem que somente quis servir ao seu país, poderia estar servindo de fato à humanidade.
