Plot Summary:
Adaptation of movie of street to epistle of resistant Jim Carroll on his free fall caleidoscópica in the distressing world of inclination of drug. Like a member of a squad of basketball of high school apparently unbeatable, the centers of Jim’s life around the court of basketball and the court become a metaphor of the world in his mind. The best friend who is dying of the leukemia, a trainer (”Swifty) who takes unacceptable liberties with the boys in his team, distresses sexual adolescent, and an unhealthy appetite for the heroin — they all of these begin to invade the dream of young Jim of becoming a star of basketball. Soon, the dark streets of Nova Iorque become a refuge of the subject of assembly of his mother with his son. He cannot go for house and his only escape of the reality of the streets is a heroin for which it links steal, it steals and prostitutes he itself. Only with the help of Reggie, an older friend of neighborhood with which Jim “caught a play” from time to time, it is he able of beginning the long travel behind to the mental health.
