Plot Summary:
In the year 1870, Captain Nathan Algren, a cynical veteran of the American Civil war that will work for someone, is rented by Americans who want that lucrative contracts with the Emperor of Japan train the peasant’s recruits for the first permanent imperial army in modern firearms of use of war. The first priority of the office imperial Omura is to suppress a rebellion of the traditionalist Samurai - hereditary warriors - who remain faithful to the sacred dynasty, but they push the politics Westernizing back and even push firearms back. Even if his top force badly prepared salts too many prompt one, his panic allows the Samurai who handles the sword to squash them.
